Were you someone else, perhaps you’d find comfort in the fact your disrespect isn’t yours alone, but that doesn’t change that as you skid into the alleyway where Responsible—and how ill ezi will be after this one, with a name you’re lucky not to bear in this moment—and her forks already crouch amongst the trash you let him sulk in he is gone and you don’t know where and you might never see him again.
You failed, and not only did you fail but you failed Her, and you failed Her again. Every opportunity she puts in front of you, you squander, and that, that is the third worst thing an ascendant can do.
The worst, of course, is fail.
You wouldn’t be too late if you hadn’t created the opportunity.
You need to sit.
